WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT JANATA DAL (SECULAR)

-

Narendra Modi in Udupi:”I heard that the Congress president criticised the respected Deve Gowdaji at an election rally 15-20 days ago. Is that your culture?” (seemingly directing the question at Rahul) “Such arrogance ! You are starting your political life and Deve Gowdaji is one of the greatest leaders of our country….I meet our former Prime Minister, Shriman Deve Gowdaji, whenever he comes to Delhi and seeks my time. That's not all. When he visits my home, I always go to his car to open the door to welcome him. And when he leaves, I go to the car to see him off. Politically he is our opponent, he criticises me and votes against us in Parliament. But Deve Gowdaji is among the greatest leaders and I have no right to forget that.”

Narendra Modi in Tumkuru: “If anyone is

protecting the Congress, it is the Janata Dal (Secular)... Congress and JD(S) have a secret understanding...an understanding behind the curtains. Why are you hiding this? Congress should have the courage to speak out the truth to people.”

Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Old Mysuru: “Earlier S in JD(S) stood for secular. But in this election they have got a new name JD(S) —Janata Dal (Sangh Parivar). The assembly poll was a face-off between two ideologies — on the one side, BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and on the other, the Congress. In between there is third party which is the B team of BJP that is JD(S).”

Rahul Gandhi in Malavalli: “The JD(S) has to think about what Basavanna had said: ‘Follow what you preach’. They (JD(S)) preach something and do something else.”
