Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi launches National Common Mobility Card with SBI
With a vision to create One Single Card for regular public transport payments, Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi launched National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in the presence of Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI. NCMC will act as a one-stop payments solution to the commuters for all their day to day public transport services such as bus and train tickets, toll, parking, smart cities and the likes. Shri. Modi inaugurated the complete Eco-system (Cards, Automatic Fare Collection Gates etc.) of National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) at Ahmedabad. NCMC will also enable people to even perform retail shopping and withdrawing money like any other bank debit card. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India in collaboration with SBI and other large institutions spearheaded the (NCMC) Program. SBI was a key member of the Technical Expert Committee for finalisation of NCMC specifications and was member of the NCMC Project Monitoring Committee along with CDAC, BEL and NPCI. The Bank acted as issuer of cards and sole acquirer of transactions.
