SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON AYODHYA

-

Sagarika Ghose@sagarikaghose

What is most heartening about #AYODHYAVERDICT is the relative absence of shrill political tu-tumain-main among political parties. Perhaps netas have become more mature than they have been since 1990s. The #Ayodhyacase must now be given closure and move towards harmony

Narendra Modi@narendramodi

The Honourable Supreme Court has given its verdict on the Ayodhya issue. This verdict shouldn’t be seen as a win or loss for anybody. Be it Ram Bhakti or Rahim Bhakti, it is imperative that we strengthen the spirit of Rashtra Bhakti. May peace and harmony prevail!

Kanchan Gupta@kanchangupta

Only 4 journalists stood up for #Ram Janmabhoomi at #Ayodhya in 1980s. @swapan55 @Drchandanmitra Manoj Raghuvanshi (Newstrack) and I. We faced relentless vilification, Press Club boycott, intellectuals' petitions. It was huqqah-paani bandh. We stood our ground. Vindicated today.

Farah Khan@farahkhanali

To me Temples Mosques Churches are brick and mortar. The true essence of prayer lies in your intent not ritual. Happy with the Ayodhya verdict. Now maybe we can leave this Mandir - Masjid issue far behind and focus on progress and people of our great nation. Jai Hind

CONTROVERSY OVER AATISH TASEER’S OCI CARD

Shashi Tharoor@shashitharoor

It is painful to see an official spokesperson of our government making a false claim that is so easily disproved. It is even more painful that in our democracy such things happen: … Is our Govt so weak that it feels threatened by a journalist?

Mohandas Pai@tvmohandaspai

Did he lie about his father being a Pakistani or did not disclose the fact? Was he a citizen? He needs to come clean not keep on this victimhood tirade

Maya Mirchandani@maya206

And his mother @tavleen_singh doesn’t count. If that isn’t patriarchy, not sure what is.

Jairam Ramesh@jairam_ramesh

I have very often been attacked by Tavleen Singh in her columns. But I condemn Home Ministry revoking her son Aatish Taseer's OCI. It was, however only to be expected. All critical voices are either snooped on, harassed or muzzled. Kyunki Tanashahi ka doosra naam Amitshahi hai!

Ashok Swain@ashoswai

I feel sorry for Tavleen Singh. What a third class regime she has been defending and promoting for years! OPENING OF THE KARTARPUR CORRIDOR

Dr Arif Alvi@arifalvi

How different can the leadership & therefore the destinies of two countries be? While Pakistan opens the Kartarpur corridor establishing that this country has a unique attitude with minorities, India is isolating and demeaning its own minorities whether in IOK or in rest of India

Smita Prakash@smitaprakash

9th November is the day the Berlin Wall fell. On 9th November today the Kartarpur corridor has opened and on this day the Ayodhya verdict has been delivered. The message of 9th November is to unite, to join up and go ahead with all. It is the day to end all bitterness
