“The agri reforms are major steps towards expanding agriculture and increasing farmers' income,” he said. Modi, who released 17 new bio-fortified varieties of eight crops on the occasion of World Food day, said these varieties were being made available to farmers across the country and will help boost production of high-nutrition crops.

At the event, Modi also said the government would soon take a decision on revising the minimum age of marriage for girls after it receives report from the committee set up for this.
