Taapsee, Kashyap raids: Tax sleuths findhiddenincome

Irregularities worth crores of rupees have been found in ongoing raids on filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, actor Taapsee Pannu and others, the Income Tax (I-T) Department said on Thursday.

The I-T officials raided 28 premises in different locations across Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Hyderabad.

According to tax officials, their investigations so far have found evidence of cash receipts amounting to ~5 crore by the leading actress, the ministry said. It said evidence of huge suppression of income by the leading film production house compared to the actual box office collections has been unearthed. The company officials have not been able to explain the discrepancy of around ~300 crore, it said.
