VACCINATION HAS TANGIBLE FINANCIAL BENEFITS: SURVEY
■ Star Health and Allied Insurance n conducted a survey of 3,820 hospitalised patients across India aged 45 and above during the second wave (March and April)
■ It found a marked reduction in n hospitalisation costs among patients who had completed two doses of vaccination
■ While the average cost of hospitalisation n for the unvaccinated group was ~2.77 lakh, that for the vaccinated group was ~2.1 lakh (24 per cent reduction)
■ This happened due to reduced length of n stay in hospital by an average of 2.1 days
■ ICU requirement was lower by 66 per cent n
