WHO MONITORING NEW COVID VARIANT NAMED 'MU'
Another coronavirus variant has been added to the World Health Organization's list of “variants of interest” over concerns that it may affect immunity developed from previous infection or vaccination. The Mu variant, also known as B.1.621, “has a constellation of mutations that indicate potential properties of immune escape”, wrote WHO in its weekly bulletin. The variant, first identified in Colombia, was added to WHO’S watchlist on August 30.
