71% Amazon sellers see biz recovering: Survey

About 98 per cent of the surveyed sellers say that technology adoption and e-commerce have positively impacted their business, according to a study commission­ed by Amazon to understand the expectatio­ns of small and medium businesses (SMBS) selling on the company’s India marketplac­e for the upcoming festive season. The study shows sellers expect increased sales and reaching new customers this festive season that will help revive their business.

“One of the most important metrics for festive season events is how we contribute to the success and growth of the lakhs of sellers on the marketplac­e,” said Sumit Sahay, director, selling partner services, Amazon India.

“This festive season, we continue to strongly prioritise efforts to enable sellers to bounce back from the economic disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and accelerate their business growth.”

Regarding the top expectatio­ns of sellers from this festive season, 78 per cent mentioned reaching out to new customers. About 71 per cent mentioned an increase in sales and 62 per cent mentioned an increase in visibility of products. About 71 per cent mentioned recovery of business after the lockdown.
