MORGAN STANLEY, EY TOP M&A TABLE FOR ‘21

Morgan Stanley and EY have topped the M&A league tables for calendar 2021, according to the data available to date. Barclays, with market share of 13.6 per cent, was was third in the league tables.

M&A activity by the Indian companies rose to $61 billion in 2021 as compared to $56.7 billion in calendar 2020. While calender 2020 saw several global giants, including Facebook and Google, buying stake in Reliance Jio Platforms, the biggest transaction in 2021 was Prosus (Payu) acquisition of Indiaideas.com (Billdesk). The acquisition of DHFL by Piramal and SB Energy acquisition by Adani group also topped the list.
