CEAMA awardees echo Aatmanirbhar Bharat ethos: Goyal
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal felicitated the winners of CEAMA Awards at a glittering ceremony held on 16th November, 2022 in New Delhi
Recognition from peers is always special, but the quantum of emotion and motivation it involves was to be experienced at the gala award ceremony in New Delhi on eve of the CEAMA Awards. Four award winners were felicitated by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India on 16th November 2022.
A Lifetime Achievement Award for year 2020 was conferred by CEAMA, posthumously to Mr. K S Raman (President, CEAMA 19961999). The Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021 was conferred to CEAMA stalwart Mr. A N Sehgal (President, CEAMA 1990-1991), who fondly recalled the early days, when manufacturing facilities were being set up for production of black and white television sets in India. He recalled that the intent of the then Government to enable television sets to reach every household brought about a revolution and he sees the same intent in the present Government wanting India to emerge as a global manufacturing hub.
For the coveted Award titled ‘Man of Small Appliances’ - Jasbir Singh (Chairman & CEO, Amber Enterprises) read the citation announcing the winner as Anuj Poddar (Managing Director & CEO, Bajaj Electricals Limited).
“CEAMA award to our group is an honour that I receive on behalf of our company with all humility, as a recognition from our Industry stakeholders is very special to us. It will serve as a motivation to move ahead and make our industry further proud by bringing in new innovation and applications. For shaping a brighter future as we are revamping our ACE business. Bajaj Electricals, which is among the first entrants in ACE domain in India, is being reinvented to make it one among the best in the world. It will enable us to further up our contribution to the industry and our great nation,”said Mr. Poddar.
Moving on to the next coveted Award titled Man of Consumer Electronics OEM Award - Vikas Gupta (Managing Director, PG Electroplast Ltd) read the citation announcing Atul B. Lall (Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Dixon Technologies India Ltd) as the winner.
“CEAMA award is a prestigious recognition from the industry and motivates us to scale new heights. Today, ACE industry has entered a significant phase, where the government has set the stage with policy support like PLI. We had witnessed our top line grow 10 times with help of the enabling focus of the government to increase domestic manufacturing base,” explained Mr. Lall.
Having felicitated the winnersshri Goyal hailed them as torchbearers of New India that will be truly Aatmanirbhar. “Bajaj Electricals is reinventing itself to stay ahead in such competitive times and the phenomenal growth registered by the Dixon group - both inspire the ACE industry to stay competitive and eye a greater share in the global market,”said Shri Goyal.
