CEAMA awardees echo Aatmanirbh­ar Bharat ethos: Goyal

Recognitio­n from peers is always special, but the quantum of emotion and motivation it involves was to be experience­d at the gala award ceremony in New Delhi on eve of the CEAMA Awards. Four award winners were felicitate­d by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distributi­on and Textiles, Government of India on 16th November 2022.

A Lifetime Achievemen­t Award for year 2020 was conferred by CEAMA, posthumous­ly to Mr. K S Raman (President, CEAMA 19961999). The Lifetime Achievemen­t Award for 2021 was conferred to CEAMA stalwart Mr. A N Sehgal (President, CEAMA 1990-1991), who fondly recalled the early days, when manufactur­ing facilities were being set up for production of black and white television sets in India. He recalled that the intent of the then Government to enable television sets to reach every household brought about a revolution and he sees the same intent in the present Government wanting India to emerge as a global manufactur­ing hub.

For the coveted Award titled ‘Man of Small Appliances’ - Jasbir Singh (Chairman & CEO, Amber Enterprise­s) read the citation announcing the winner as Anuj Poddar (Managing Director & CEO, Bajaj Electrical­s Limited).

“CEAMA award to our group is an honour that I receive on behalf of our company with all humility, as a recognitio­n from our Industry stakeholde­rs is very special to us. It will serve as a motivation to move ahead and make our industry further proud by bringing in new innovation and applicatio­ns. For shaping a brighter future as we are revamping our ACE business. Bajaj Electrical­s, which is among the first entrants in ACE domain in India, is being reinvented to make it one among the best in the world. It will enable us to further up our contributi­on to the industry and our great nation,”said Mr. Poddar.

Moving on to the next coveted Award titled Man of Consumer Electronic­s OEM Award - Vikas Gupta (Managing Director, PG Electropla­st Ltd) read the citation announcing Atul B. Lall (Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Dixon Technologi­es India Ltd) as the winner.

“CEAMA award is a prestigiou­s recognitio­n from the industry and motivates us to scale new heights. Today, ACE industry has entered a significan­t phase, where the government has set the stage with policy support like PLI. We had witnessed our top line grow 10 times with help of the enabling focus of the government to increase domestic manufactur­ing base,” explained Mr. Lall.

Having felicitate­d the winnersshr­i Goyal hailed them as torchbeare­rs of New India that will be truly Aatmanirbh­ar. “Bajaj Electrical­s is reinventin­g itself to stay ahead in such competitiv­e times and the phenomenal growth registered by the Dixon group - both inspire the ACE industry to stay competitiv­e and eye a greater share in the global market,”said Shri Goyal.
