Musk threatens to sue Twitter staff if data leaks

Employees to sign a pledge stating they understood the conditions

-

Twitter’s new boss, Elon Musk is not pleased about leaks. He has issued another ultimatum to Twitter employees and told them not to share confidential information with the press otherwise there will be legal consequences.

An email to employees, accessed by Platformer’s reads that Twitter will “immediately seek damages” if they violate their non-disclosure agreements (NDAS).

“As evidenced by the many detailed leaks of confidential Twitter information, a few people at our company continue to act in a manner contrary to the company’s interests and in violation of their NDA,” read the email.

He added, “This will be said only once: If you clearly and deliberately violate the NDA that you signed when you joined, you accept liability to the full extent of the law & Twitter

will immediately seek damages.”

The world’s wealthiest person in the email said that occasional slips ups could be forgiven, but “sending detailed info to the media will receive the response it deserves.” Musk has demanded that the staffers sign a pledge indicating they have understood the policy. The employees had time till Sunday to sign it.

Meanwhile, Musk on Sunday posted a cryptic tweet, “The bots are in for a surprise tomorrow,” but did not leave any further explanations on the same.

Twitter Blue rolls out today

Twitter will relaunch a revamped version of its subscription service Twitter Blue on Monday, December 12.

The price of Twitter Blue subscription services have been raised from $8 to $11 for iphone users.

The revamped service will allow subscribers to edit tweets, upload 1080p videos and get a blue checkmark post account verification.

“We'll begin replacing that ‘official’ label with a gold checkmark for businesses, and later in the week a grey checkmark for government and multilateral accounts,” said the company.

Subscribers will be able to change their handle, display name and more, “but if they do, they’ll temporarily lose the blue checkmark until their account is reviewed again,” said Twitter.
