India now has the largest number of Facebook users, ahead of the US, according to recent media reports. A report by thenextweb.com says that the social networking giant, in a recent communication to its advertisers, has mentioned this development. As of July 13, 2017, Facebook had 241 million monthly active users in India compared to 240 million in the US. India now contributes 11 per cent to the site’s overall traffi c. Brazil and Indonesia are third and fourth on the list with 139 million and 126 million monthly active users, respectively. Earlier Facebook announced it had two billion- plus monthly active users globally. In April this year, Facebook said it had 184 million monthly active users in India.
