Magic Switch
Connected devices, traditionally dominated by smart LEDs, are becoming quite the rage. The latest to join the fray is the Tuya Smart Switch, a Wi-Fi plug-in socket that can be controlled using an app. Setting it up is easy. Plug the socket into a switch board first. After installing the Tuya Smart app and configuring the account, select the smart switch and enter the Wi-Fi password. Within seconds, the app detects the switch and is ready for use. Once a device, such as the TV or air purifier, is plugged into the switch, it can be operated from within the app. (Rename the switch in the app if you wish to.) So, you can have a cup of coffee brewed for you when you are nearing home if the coffee maker is plugged in. The smart switch can be controlled manually, too. The only drawback is that it is an international socket and, hence, requires universal adaptors to plug in appliances available in our country. Tuya Smart Switch, priced at $9, is compatible with Amazon Echo Plus and Google Home, and can be controlled using voice commands.
