Atotal of 82 golfers teed off on a cool bright morning at the Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Course in Ahmedabad for the LLOYD Business Today ProAm of Champions 2018 edition. The world-class championship course of 18 holes, 7,425 yards and par-72 layout was designed by Nicklaus Design, a leading golf course designing firm owned by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus. It has been rated as India’s best golf course for the past two years!
Played in the Stableford format with Double Peoria handicap system, the round witnessed keen golfing action with players competing for the individual as well as team prizes.
The day’s action culminated with the prize distribution ceremony over lunch.
The winning team of Aditya Patel (Alaina Healthcare), Ragesh Vasa ( First Tee), Nirav Shah ( Mantissa Infotech Pvt. Ltd) and Vishal Desai (Shreeji Marketing), with a combined score of 92 points, was crowned Ahmedabad Arrows and also earned a spot in the Pro-Am National finals, to be held in Delhi in March 2018.
The runner-up team, including V.V. Iyer (Apan Impex Pvt. Ltd), Parag Adukia (Lifestile Project Solution), Mittal Parikh (Navjivan Prasutigruh and Orthopedic Hospital) and Rajiv Tanna (SRS Green Technologies Pvt. Ltd), tied with the winners at 92 points but lost because of the score of the fourth team member.
In the individual prizes section, Suresh Mankoti (Vishwakarma Mechanical Works), with 32 points, won in the 15-24 handicap category and Rajiv Tanna, with 34 points, emerged victorious in the 0-14 handicap category.
Other eminent golfers among the corporate honchos of Ahmedabad who participated in the meet included Abhijit Vasa, Arcata Trade Links; Daksh Patel, J.P Foods; Rajiv Vasa, VR Cotton, and Sachin Jain, Pavit Ceramics.
