SURVEY AT BITCOIN EXCHANGES

The income tax department has conducted 'surveys' at nine Bitcoin exchanges. Earlier, reports had suggested that some tax evaders might be parking illicit money in Bitcoin. Bitcoin exchange Coinsecure, which has off ices in Delhi and Bangalore, said: "Senior off icials conducted a survey across our Delhi and Bangalore off ices in an attempt to gauge and comprehend the state of Bitcoin in India...The broad sword of discussions was to understand Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and their users."
