AMAZON TO FIRE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE

Online retail giant Amazon is laying off hundreds of employees, mainly at its Seattle headquarters, which will affect its overpopulated consumer retail business. Amazon, however, promised its aggressive hiring would continue. It reported $ 60.5 billion in revenue for the December quarter, up from $ 43.74 billion a year ago, and a profit of $ 1.9 billion due to growing Echo devices sales and a jump in Prime membership.
