$62.5 BN BAYER-MONSANTO DEAL GETS DOJ NOD
The U.S. Justice Department has approved Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto in a $62.5 billion deal. In 2016, the German drugs and pesticides maker offered to buy Monsanto, the world’s biggest seed company, but the proposed merger raised the spectre of stiff product pricing. Bayer will now sell its digital farming assets to BASF and make concessions related to digital agriculture.
