ICE BUYING CHICAGO STOCK EXCHANGE

-

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of New York Stock Exchange, is buying the 136-year-old Chicago Stock Exchange for an undisclosed amount. Although it handles less than 1 per cent of the nation’s equity volume, the deal will give ICE yet another operating licence. Earlier, a Chinese-led consortium wanted to buy it, but the offer was rejected by the U.S. government.
