HOW WE DID IT
Executive remuneration has been, and continues to be, an important issue. Therefore utmost care has been taken to cull out the data. We have sourced the data from Prowess, a CMIE database but to make doubly sure the data was further verified from published annual reports of companies. We have considered the total remuneration for our analysis which includes salary, perquisites, commissions, bonus, performance pay, contribution to PF and stock options in some cases.
A universe of BSE 500 companies was evaluated to zero in on the list of top 10 highest paid executives which was further divided into promoters and professionals. We have 10 each in promoters and professional CEOs category.
We have considered only the executive heads of the company, for the year 2016/17 within BSE 500 companies, for the listing. Moreover, only those executive heads who have served the entire fiscal 2016/17 were considered.
