IRELAND MOVES AWAY FROM FOSSIL FUELS

The Irish Parliament has recently passed the historic Fossil Fuel Divestment Bill so that investments in coal, oil and gas could be dropped from the €8 billion Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, part of the Republic’s National Treasury Management Agency. The Bill was introduced by Thomas Pringle and should be made into law in the next few months after the Financial Committee review.
