BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY INVESTS IN PAYTM

In its first direct investment in India, Warren Buffet-led Berkshire Hathaway has picked up a small stake of 3-4 per cent in One97 Communications, the parent company of digital payments major Paytm. The US investor will also get a board seat. Although details are not known, Buffet’s company was reportedly in talks with Paytm to invest about ` 2,200-2,500 crore at a valuation of about $10-12 billion.
