US-CANADA NAFTA TALKS CON­TINUE

Cana­dian For­eign Min­is­ter Chrys­tia Free­land and US Trade Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Robert Lighthizer are in talks to iron out trade dif­fer­ences, the out­come of which could re­place the North Amer­i­can Free Trade Agree­ment (NAFTA). Ne­go­ti­a­tions en­tered a cru­cial phase af­ter the US and Mex­ico an­nounced a bi­lat­eral deal, paving the way for Canada to re­join talks and mod­ernise the pact that un­der­pins over $1 tril­lion in an­nual trade.
