The calculations and projections provided in the plan are based on the following assumptions: Retirement age is 60 for both spouses and life expectancy is 80 for both

Inflation rate is kept at 7 per cent

Returns from ultra-short-term investments are set at

6 per cent per annum

Returns from debt investments, EPF, PPF and gold bonds are set at 7 per cent per annum

Returns from equity savings fund will be 9 per cent per annum while equity fund returns stand at 12 per cent per annum Real estate returns are considered to be 7 per cent
