EMPLOYER’S KEY RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE POSH ACT
Any company with more than 10 employees has to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). It should have one external member from an NGO or an association or a person familiar with issues of sexual harassment The Act applies to all women whether working in organised or unorganised sector, blue collar or white collar role
Mandatory to organise awareness sessions and training of employees To provide assistance if a woman employee files a complaint
To treat sexual harassment as a misconduct and initiate action
Provide necessary facilities to ICC to conduct inquiry
Display at conspicuous places in the workplace the penal consequences of sexual harassment
