Most student loans are for ` 20- 25 lakh. Typically, 60% of the students in a class would have a loan in the region of ` 20-25 lakh to clear. The median salary for the top B- schools is around ` 20 lakh. This means 50% of the students get a salary of below ` 20 lakh. Reduction, if not a re- think, of the fee and its structure, may be an option. B- schools need to redefine the way aiddeserving students are identified and the extent to which they are supported.
