BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has kicked off an expensive bidding war by setting the total base price for cricket’s IPL rights for 2023-27 at a whopping `32,890 crore. And as Zee, Sony Pictures Networks, Network18, Disney Star, Amazon and a host of smaller digital players battle it out for different rights in the e-auction slated for June, BCCI looks set to be the real winner of the tournament.
