FAB PUSH SPEEDING UP

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is interviewing candidates for the head of its India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). The CEO of this independent business division will drive India’s strategies for developing semiconductors and the display manufacturing ecosystem, negotiating with the applicants for appropriate technology mix, node size(s), capacity, etc. Industry sources told Business Today that MeiTY has shortlisted about 35 candidates— established names of the semiconductor industry from India and abroad— who are being interviewed for the position. In addition, the Semicon India 2022 conference will be held on April 29 in Bengaluru, which will feature several global industry leaders.
