NO FREE RUN

In a move that is seen as part of the government’s efforts to curtail the dominance of US retail giants Amazon and Walmart in India’s e-commerce market, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) conducted searchand-seizure operations at the offices of top sellers on e-commerce marketplaces over complaints of alleged anti-competitive practices. Raids were conducted in Delhi and Bengaluru in relation to an investigation launched by the CCI in January 2020. —BINU PAUL
