-

For this global leader in logistics, growth is a continuous process and so is employee capability building. The group today employs about 40,000 people in the country and this huge workforce is one of the biggest strengths to this well-nurtured organization. DHL services over 56,000 locations in India, has about 60 operating facilities as DHL Express and now a network of service points with a footprint of nearly 800 retail counters. “There’s no stagnancy. There has been no part of the year when we have not done some expansion work. So, our growth has been a continuous process. Even during the pandemic, we either expanded or relocated some of our facilities,” says R.S Subramanian, Senior Vice PresidentDHL Express, India. DHL is delivering excellence and not just shipments. There is a huge focus on the quality of work in every aspect of delivery. Its corporate purpose includes connecting people and improving lives. “We deliver joy, we deliver prospects, we deliver a solution, we solve a problem for our customers. That’s the mindset with which we approach our business, and every employee is conscious of the vital role they play in this process,” says Subramanian. Employees are considered the first stakeholder at DHL. The organization believes that excellence is only possible due to its motivated team. Over the years, it has proven its immense focus on people by being the Kincentric Best Employer five times in a row. They put a significant focus on building a humane organization. “Respect is powerful, and it has a direct bearing over results. We are proud to have a team that is motivated with what they do. Their everyday work entails respect for what they do and their people which directly impacts their performance. Excellence is a residue of a highly motivated team,” says Sunjoy Dhaawan, Chief HR officer – DHL express India. Being in the service industry, DHL recognises that it is its people who deliver the promise that they make to their customers. “We can build fantastic facilities, bring great technology into play and build a network for connecting with our customers, but finally all of them are operated by people and awareness of this truth is what keeps us going strength to strength”, adds Dhaawan.
