SAROVAR HOTELS has acquired a 50 rooms and cottages property in Mashobra Hills, Shimla. Owned by AB Tools Pvt Ltd, the property that was already functionin­g will be renamed as Marigold Sarovar Portico and will open this month. INTERCONTI­NENTAL HOTELS GROUP has opened its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo in Bangkok this year. It is the 62nd Hotel Indigo property to open globally and is the first of 10 to be launched across Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) in the coming years. TAJ GROUP OF HOTELS has opened the Taj Dubai on Burj Khalifa Street. The 296room property is made up of Taj Club Rooms, 16 Junior Suites and 15 Luxury Suites with views of Burj Khalifa, dancing fountains and the Dubai Mall. It also has two lavish suites: The Maharaja Suite is inspired by the Maharaja’s palaces in Rajasthan, and the 680-square-metres The Presidenti­al Suite has a dedicated floor on level 35. LEMON TREE HOTELS opened a 48room property in Vadodara last month. The facilities include a gym, cyber kiosk, and two meeting rooms to cater to business travellers. It also offers a multi-cuisine coffee shop, and a rooftop, al-fresco dining area. NOVOTEL NEW DELHI AEROCITY is scheduled to open in July 2015 in New Delhi. The 400-room property offers an outdoor pool, spa tub, sauna, compliment­ary wireless Internet access in public areas, a computer station, a business centre and meeting rooms. LE MÉRIDIEN MAHABALESH­WAR RESORT & SPA will open on May 1. Free Internet will be available to all SPG Members when booking on Starwood websites, mobile sites and SPG apps. Other guests may sign up for high-speed Internet at ₹ 900 per day. LANGHAM HOSPITALIT­Y GROUP is launching a new brand. Cordis Hotels and Resorts will make its debut this month with the rebranding of the Langham Place Mongkok Hong Kong. Each property will be individual in design. The group intends to expand Cordis in Bangkok, Dubai, LA, London, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Singapore. JUMEIRAH is to open a resort on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island. The 294-room property is expected to open in 2017.
