ONEWORLD OPTIONS: LONDON - SINGAPORE

-

Having had good advice from this forum many times over the years, I am further asking for your advice to help me with a potential work trip in early February, 2015.

I am aware that British Airways and Singapore Airlines fly the route directly, but on some of the dates there the Club World fare is not that attractive, and I thought there may be an opportunity to fly another OneWorld Carrier, which could also earn me more points.

The options I guess are Finnair, Qatar Airways, SriLankan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and of course Cathay Pacific, but these are a much longer routing.

So I would welcome your thoughts on the inflight products and connecting airports of these carriers, most likely in Business.

Of course some carriers might not have the latest seating, for example Finnair on their A340? And what is their short haul seating product like?

Is SriLankan Airlines decent these days? Do they have flatbeds? Hi I flew several times with SriLankan Airlines, they have very good business class on A330-A340, with fully flat beds, good catering and service. Connection in Colombo is quite good, the lounge is not as impressive as the Qatar Airways’ one, but is still acceptable. Usually SriLankan Airlines is very competitive with good fares and excellent change/cancellation rules.

If you are willing to take a connection, then why not try ex-Amsterdam on British Airways.
