Qatar Air­ways ex­tends pre-or­der din­ing ser­vice

Qatar Air­ways has ex­tended its re­cently in­tro­duced pre-or­der din­ing ser­vice for pre­mium pas­sen­gers.

The ben­e­fit is now avail­able to busi­ness and first class trav­ellers on long-haul routes to Africa and Asia, join­ing Europe, the Amer­i­cas and Aus­trala­sia.

Pas­sen­gers can pre-se­lect their main course from the a la carte menu, be­tween 14 days and 24 hours be­fore take-off, by log­ging into ‘My Trips’ on the Qatar Air­ways web­site or mo­bile app.

Com­ment­ing on the news Qatar Air­ways Group CEO Ak­bar Al Baker said:“Fol­low­ing its highly suc­cess­ful in­tro­duc­tion in Au­gust, we have de­cided to extend our pop­u­lar Pre-Se­lect Din­ing ser­vice for pas­sen­gers fly­ing on long-haul flights from Doha to se­lect des­ti­na­tions in Africa and Asia. This gives even more of our first and busi­ness class pas­sen­gers the op­por­tu­nity to pre­s­e­lect their meals be­fore they fly and is a highly-val­ued en­hance­ment to our al­ready un­ri­valled on-board ex­pe­ri­ence.”

The car­rier is not the first to in­tro­duce a pre-or­der ser­vice for its pre­mium cus­tomers. Sin­ga­pore Air­lines of­fers a Book the Cook ser­vice for its suites, first, busi­ness and pre­mium econ­omy pas­sen­gers, while Bri­tish Air­ways al­lows First, Club World and World Trav­eller Plus trav­ellers to pre-or­der meals on se­lected flights from Gatwick and Heathrow (World Trav­eller pas­sen­gers can also opt to pur­chase in­flight meals in ad­vance).
