will open in Hong Kong, the first time for the renowned luxury Marriott Internatio­nal brand in the city. A confirmed opening date beyond “early 2019” has yet to be announced by Marriott. The new 25-storey hotel, located in the city’s bustling Wan Chai district has a total of 129 guest suites, many of which will have views of the Kowloon peninsular and Victoria Harbour. Other confirmed facilities include a 320-seat banquet hall, a heated swimming pool, signature Chinese and French restaurant­s, as well as the brand’s namesake Butler Service. HYATT HOTELS has debuted its Hyatt Place brand in Germany, with the opening of a 312-room hotel close to Frankfurt airport. The property is located within the Gateway Gardens business quarter, within walking distance of the airport, and around a ten-minute rail journey from the city centre. Facilities include a 24-hour gym and fitness centre, 300 sqm of meeting space, Zoom Clocal Dining restaurant, Coffee to Cocktails Bar, and a 24-hour market for grab and go items. Guests benefit from daily hot breakfast, as well as free wifi with remote printing available throughout the hotel. SWIRE HOTELS has unveiled a sneak preview of its upcoming The Middle House property in Shanghai. The hotel forms part of the new HKRI Taikoo Hui mixeduse developmen­t alongside the world’s second Sukhothai Hotels and Resorts property, located on Nanjing Road (West) in the city’s commercial district. Italian architect, Lissoni Piero, is behind the design of the hotel, which features an interior created around classical Shanghaine­se styles along with a minimalist aesthetic. The exterior, meanwhile, features large round aluminium louvres, or angled slats, intended to provide privacy for the guest rooms along with giving the tower its distinctiv­e aesthetic.
