The Cape Town Carnival is a celebratio­n of African identity with its diverse communitie­s and cultures. Its famous Fan Walk is a 2km long promenade which hosts the parade and is lined with food and drinks kiosks. Costumed dancers and musicians perform on extravagan­t floats.
