Business Traveller (India) - - INDIA CAR REPORT 2018 -

Sleek and sharp, the Jeep Compass dominates the road with its confident, elegant stance. Jeep’s historic design cues are unmistakable — the seven-slot grille and the trapezoidal wheel arches — a perfect blend of a rugged off-roader and an elegant urban vehicle. This is seen in the Jeep Active Drive 4X4 System, which can easily switch between two and four-wheel drive, as per terrain requirement. The SUV is powered by a 1.4 litre Multiair petrol engine ( a two-litre diesel option available), which translates to a power of 162 ps, promising an impressive average of 14.1 kmpl. Drivers have a choice between a seven-speed automatic gear transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. In the 4X4 mode, the car comes with a Selec-Terrain dial where you can choose different modes like Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud, each which render different throttle responses and traction. As rugged and muscular as it is on the outside, the Jeep Compass is soft and plush on the inside. Perks include a leather-covered steering wheel, Jeep’s signature UConnect infotainment panel with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a two-zone climate control and an information cluster that can be customised. jeep-in
