Thomas Goode & Co. arrives on Indian shores

ONE OF LONDON’S oldest luxury retailers made history by opening its first international outpost in 200 years. In the cavernous atrium of Mumbai’s chic Oberoi Hotel, the iconic Mayfair retailer opened its boutique and museum to the public, showcasing glassware, tableware, china and home accessories from the likes of Herend, and Hermès in addition to Thomas Goode’s eponymous collection.

Founded in 1827, the brand’s Mayfair flagship still attracts high-profile international clients. Now, Indian luxury consumers will have access to some outstanding British craftsmanship and a host of bespoke services —monogrammed dinner sets, customised curios and personalised curios.

There is also a selection of India-specific merchandise, such as glass Ganesha curios. Next to the store, the Thomas Goode & Co. museum showcases original historic pieces made by the brand for Indian maharajas and British royalty.
