Villa Toscana and Lanes of London

As its name suggests, Villa Toscana is as Italian as it gets. Inspired by the stately villas of Tuscany, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi’s rustic Italian eatery banks on its top-notch produce and Italian culinary savoir faire, resulting in one of the city’s most exclusive dining experiences. The menu is a beautiful celebration of Italian produce, sourced from Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna, under the tutelage of Culinary Chef Rosario Martorana. I started with appetisers — a flavourful eggplant parmigiana seasoned with fresh basil, followed by the comforting textures and aromas of a lobster and prawn ravioli. I also sampled a small portion of porcini risotto, which was textured to perfection.

The mains impressed me — a succulent leg of lamb, grilled and served with potatoes and vegetables. What struck me about Villa Toscana was the sheer simplicity of the dishes, and the strong emphasis on high-quality produce. VERDICT
