THE BOSTON BUTT OPENS IN BANDRA
WE RECENTLY CHECKED out Mumbai’s new smokery, charcuterie and bar — The Boston Butt. Located in Bandra, the diner has a casual vibe and features elements of a traditional bar of the French Quarter, New Orleans and décor inspired by Southern American hunting.
The menu is influenced by the food culture of south Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, north Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky. All meats and veggies are slowsmoked at low temperatures on an authentic southern American offset smoker that uses particular types of wood and coal. We started with some smoked chicken chilly and tacos made with cottage cheese and beet yoghurt. If you are in the mood for some Goan cuisine, then try Mac-a-Pav, Goan style chicken chorizo, mac-n-cheese with pao (bread). Mac-a-Pav is quite an interesting mix of ingredients and is worth a try.
For vegetarians, the bloom bread — pull-apart bread, mixed with cheddars and chive is highly recommended. The menu also has sandwiches, sliders and thin crust mini pizzas. Adding to it is an extensive selection of Californian wines, southern Americaninspired house cocktails, locally crafted beers, gin and nonalcoholic house brews.
