ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS TO START DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN JAPAN AND CHENNAI

-

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is to start a new service between Narita and Chennai from October 27, 2019. Following this, ANA will be the only carrier offering direct flights from Japan to South India. Chennai is the third destination in India served by ANA after Delhi and Mumbai.

The airline will be deploying its Boeing 787-8 aircraft on this route.

Commenting on this news, Seiichi Takahashi, senior vice president, ANA said, “It is always exciting to add a new destination, but it is even more significant to be the only carrier offering connecting this growing region with Japan.

“International passenger service is the main revenue generator for the ANA Group, and we hope to continue improving our market share in this dynamic sector as outlined in our mid-term Corporate Strategy for FY2018-2022. The new Chennai route will bring ANA’s world-class quality travel service to a beautiful and under-serviced region that is home to millions of potential new customers.”

The Narita-Chennai service forms a part of ANA’s move in increasing its Asia/ Oceania network.

This expansion will bring ANA’s number of total cities serviced to 46. ana.co.jp
