BACKGROUND Opened in 2018, Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa is Hyatt’s first beach resort in Japan.
WHAT’S IT LIKE? After a hectic journey, I felt an instant sense of calm when I looked at the azure ocean views that this property oeres. The façade as well as the interiors are subtle with light hues, wooden elements and modern furnishing.
WHERE IS IT? Located on a private island on the west coast of Okinawa, the resort is an hour’s drive from Naha airport. Limousine buses, rental cars and taxi services are a few transport modes, operating between the airport and this property. Some popular tourist attractions that you can explore during your stay here are Bios no Oka, Ryukyu Mura theme park and Cape Manzamo.
ROOMS I stayed in an Ocean Corner suite — a 100 sqm premium level suite — that opens to stunning vistas of the ocean and the lagoon pool. The accommodation is done quite tastefully and is pleasing to the eye. The vibe of the room perfectly complements the marine beauty outside. It’s been over four months since I visited this property, and I still reminisce those evenings, when I would sit in the balcony for hours with a cup of freshly brewed coee and enjoy the relaxing ocean sounds. Guests staying in this suite also have access to Regency Club Lounge. Other room categories include Harbour suites, Seragaki Island suites, Regency suites and Lagoon View guestrooms among others.
FOOD AND DRINK Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa’s food and beverage oerings intrigue the palates of the most well-travelled guests including myself. Head to Shirakachi Robata and indulge in robata, sushi, teppanyaki and other Japanese style cuisines. Their all-day dining restaurant Serale is known for its sumptuous breakfast spread. For fine Italian dining, visit Serale. Alcohol saficionado can also head to the Lobby Bar, the poolside bar and the beach bar. My daily coee rituals were taken care of at the Lobby Lounge.
BUSINESS Host a picturesque wedding or dinner events in one of their five stylish banquets equipped with the high-end amenities. These venues can be configured easily for large and small gatherings.
LEISURE You can book an appointment at Spa Hanari for a rejuvenating wellness treatment. Since the gym is open 24 hours, I was able to visit for a quick workout at any time.
