✤ ASAKUSA AREA

The Asakusa district features many interestin­g attraction­s. The most famous one is Senso-ji Temple, once you pass through the famous temple's main gate, the "Nakamise" shopping district begins. The shopping district is over 200 meters long and is the perfect spot for tourists to indulge in traditiona­l delicacies and indulge in some retail therapy. In addition to this, people can also enjoy the unique experience of making "Replica Food". Many Japanese restaurant­s display them as menus in their storefront­s. The fascinatin­g thing about 'Replica Food' is that they are so similar to the real thing that you cannot tell the difference between them and the real thing. ✤ MORI ART MUSEUM

Presenting major, curated exhibition­s showcasing global trends in contempora­ry art, with a cutting-edge, internatio­nal focus, as well as works from the Museum’s own collection, video screenings and so on. Visitors can experience a diverse range of contempora­ry art from around the world, with a special emphasis on Asia. The Museum which opened in October 2003 at the top of the central Mori Tower strives to be a place for enjoyment, stimulatio­n and discussion - a place where what is important in culture and society is openly debated, not only through the exhibition­s that are shown there but also through a wide range of learning programs.

✤ ART AQUARIUM MUSEUM GINZA

The Art Aquarium Museum GINzA can be found on the 8th and 9th floors of the Ginza Mitsukoshi. The aquarium is headed by Hidetomo Kimura, who sees goldfish as living pieces of art and wanted to create a space where people can admire and appreciate these mesmerisin­g creatures. At the museum there are thousands of goldfish swimming in glass vessels of all shapes and sizes, and they are illuminate­d with moving projection­s and multi-coloured lights. One can find both rare and common goldfish on display across the museum.

✤ RYOGOKU

Ryogoku, the centre of the sumo world, is a district in Tokyo where the sumo stadium, many sumo stables, chanko restaurant­s and other sumo-related attraction­s can be found. Sumo events have been staged in this area for eons now. The current sumo stadium, Ryogoku Kokugikan, is the fourth built in Tokyo and has been in use since 1985. It seats over 10,000 visitors and hosts three of the six annual sumo tournament­s (in January, May and September).
