Have asked the Centre to rejig Telangana’s loan: Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, a key campaigner for the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, does not mince words when he counters allegations thrown at him and the party, particularly Rahul Gandhi.
Reddy, who is well aware of the fact that he is the Chief Minister of an Opposition party, says that when he wears the hat of the Chief Minister, he knows what his priorities are.
BORROWING CAP
In a conversation with businessline, he said, “Right now I’m in the war zone. I have to act accordingly... But when I am performing the job of the Chief Minister, I maintain my relations with the Prime Minister.” Telangana has been negotiating with the Centre to enhance its borrowing limit under the FRBM norms. The Centre so far has been firm that this loan is linked to power sector reforms.
The previous government in Telangana had refused to implement these power reforms arguing that they would impose a financial burden on the farming community.
ADANI, AMBANI ISSUE
On the verbal duel between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi on Ambani and Adani, Revanth Reddy said: “So far as Telangana is concerned, we are asking them to invest in the State (at the recent World Economic Forum, his government signed four MoUs with Adani companies for ₹12,000-crore investments). We are not giving any property (land) to Adanis. So, there is a difference between Telangana and the government of India,” he said.
