Porsche Cayenne e-hybrid Com­ing in Septem­ber

Porsche ’sthird - gen­er­a­tion Cayene ar­rived only re­cently and, with the man­u­fac­turer cur­rently mov­ing away from diesel-pow­ered cars and shift­ing fo­cus to e-mo­bil­ity and hy­brids, the new Cayenne e-hybrid takes the game fur­ther. It boasts of more power and torque as well as tech com­pared to its pre­de­ces­sor.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 tur­bopetrol de­vel­op­ing 340 PS and 450 Nm com­bined with an elec­tric mo­tor mak­ing 136 PS and 400 Nm. The net peak out­put is 462 PS and 700 Nm. The new Cayenne plug-in hybrid will ac­cel­er­ate from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 5.0 sec­onds and go on to 253 km/h. It will also go 44 km at up to 135 km/h on elec­tric power, thanks to the larger 14.1kWh battery pack. Power is sent to all wheels through the eight-speed Tip­tronic S au­to­matic gear­box es­pe­cially de­vel­oped for the new Cayenne range.

Also new are the head-up dis­play (HUD), mas­sage seats, and 22-inch light me­tal wheels. The new Cayenne e-hybrid will be launched in In­dia at the end of Septem­ber this year.
