MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India Limited
Roland Folger has been with Mercedes-Benz for over 30 years now and his journey comprises prominent positions in the brand’s operations across the globe. His stint as the leader of the German brand’s Indian division began in 2015 and Mercedes-Benz have flourished under his baton, consolidating their position as segment leaders and have posted a record high of 15,000 annual sales in 2017.
Folger recently oversaw the roll-out of India’s 100,000th Mercedes-Benz vehicle, an E-Class, 24 years after the brand first entered the market. Several models arrived in Indian showrooms over the last year, including the new E-Class, a facelift GLA, and the GT R and GT Roadster from their performance division Mercedes-AMG, among many more models.
There are more new launches in the pipeline, with Mercedes-Benz India announcing a total of 10 launches in 2018 itself. Folger will lead these introductions until November 2018, after which he will hand over the reins to Martin Schwenk to take up a key position in the marque’s Thailand and Vietnam markets.
