Roland Fol­ger has been with Mercedes-Benz for over 30 years now and his jour­ney com­prises promi­nent po­si­tions in the brand’s op­er­a­tions across the globe. His stint as the leader of the Ger­man brand’s In­dian divi­sion be­gan in 2015 and Mercedes-Benz have flour­ished un­der his ba­ton, con­sol­i­dat­ing their po­si­tion as seg­ment lead­ers and have posted a record high of 15,000 an­nual sales in 2017.

Fol­ger re­cently over­saw the roll-out of In­dia’s 100,000th Mercedes-Benz ve­hi­cle, an E-Class, 24 years after the brand first en­tered the mar­ket. Sev­eral mod­els ar­rived in In­dian show­rooms over the last year, in­clud­ing the new E-Class, a facelift GLA, and the GT R and GT Road­ster from their per­for­mance divi­sion Mercedes-AMG, among many more mod­els.

There are more new launches in the pipe­line, with Mercedes-Benz In­dia an­nounc­ing a to­tal of 10 launches in 2018 it­self. Fol­ger will lead th­ese in­tro­duc­tions un­til Novem­ber 2018, after which he will hand over the reins to Martin Sch­wenk to take up a key po­si­tion in the mar­que’s Thai­land and Viet­nam mar­kets.
