CEO and MD, Renault India
Sawhney’s association with the Renault Group began in 2012 as the executive director (sales and marketing). He has worked in various automotive markets across the world and has 22 years of experience under his belt in addition to a degree in MBA from the IMS, Indore. He took over as CEO and MD of Renault India in January 2014. In his current role, he oversees group operations and activities of upstream and offshore entities in the country as well as functional decision.
Prior to joining Renault India, Sawhney was with General Motors India, and FIAT India before that. His responsibilities in the past included commercial operations, field operations, brand management, and investor and partner affairs.
In the past year, Renault launched the Captur which is a great all-rounder and can deal with a fair bit of the rough stuff and tricky terrain. Apart from this, Renault have been reporting strong sales thanks to popular models such as the Kwid and the Duster.
