The all-new Hyundai Santro has made a dra­matic come­back, reap­pear­ing in an all-new avatar for a mod­ern car mar­ket, priced from Rs 3.90 lakh (ex-show­room).

The fa­mil­iar tall-boy de­sign has been re­tained, al­beit with new styling cues and mod­ern kit. Hyundai claim im­proved iso­la­tion for en­gine, road and wind noise, and a strong body struc­ture.

Fea­tures are the area where the new car re­ally shines, pack­ing a 7.0inch cen­tre touch­screen, smart­phone con­nec­tiv­ity via Ap­ple CarPlay, An­droid Auto or Mir­rorLink and iBlue au­dio re­mote, as well as voice recog­ni­tion. The new Hyundai Santro uses a 1.1-litre four-cylin­der petrol en­gine mak­ing 69 PS and 99 Nm. It of­fers an op­tion of petrol man­ual or au­to­mated trans­mis­sion or a 59-PS/84-Nm CNG man­ual ver­sion.

The Santro is now avail­able in nine vari­ants, priced be­tween Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-show­room). You may read our first drive re­view on page 18 of this is­sue.
