ACCD holds cricket tournament

The Air Cargo Club of Delhi (ACCD) has organised a cricket tournament that is being played from September 13, according to the rules laid by BCCI for T-20 cricket and with latest amendments suggested by the technical committee of ICC, in Delhi will continue till October 31 with the league matches being day matches; the semifinals and finals to be played as night matches under lights. The night matches would be played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The entry has been restricted to club member teams and nonmember teams from the Air Freight fraternity only.

The format of the tournament has been decided on the basis of the T-20 format with each side getting to play 20 overs. The matches, consisting of a total of 12 teams divided in groups of three, would be played on every second Saturday and Sundays. There are three groups. Group A includes Skyways Air Services, Panalpina World Transport (India), UTi Worldwide India, Continenta­l Carriers. Group B includes Celebi Delhi Cargo Management Terminal, Sunrise Freight Forwarders, Albatross Shipping, Asia Shipping – Maersk Line. Group C includes Perfect Cargo Movers, Sun Aviation, Logistics Plus + Rahat Continenta­l, Air Shagoon Network-Zeal Global Services.

All the captains were made to understand the rules of the tournamnt at the ACAAI conference room on August 28, 2014.

The membership fees include all ground charges, T-shirts and track bottoms for 15 players, meals for 15 members for each participat­ing match and all match necessitie­s as cricket balls, umpires, scorers, etc. The fees exclude the personal playing kit like bats, pads, etc. of the team.

The convener of the team is Ashwini Sharma supported by Sumit Mathur.
