FM Logistic India has appointed Alexandre
Amine Soufiani as Managing Director for India operations. Soufiani, who is an alumnus of Clermont Business School, France, worked with several corporates in France including Renault and Veolia Environment before joining FM Logistic Corporate in France in 2012. He was involved in Indian operations since 2016 and initially worked as Financial Controlling Director to manage the post-acquisition integration of Spear Logistics in FM Logistic. Later, he moved in to the position of Key Account Director for some strategic customers. Soufiani has taken over from Gautam Dembla, one of the founders of Spear Logistics.
Dirk Goovaerts has been appointed as Regional CEO for the Asia Pacific region by dnata, taking responsibility for 10 airports in three countries. In his role, Goovaerts will oversee operations at airports in Australia, the Philippines and Singapore, managing a workforce of 6,000 employees. He will report to Ross Marino, Senior Vice President for dnata’s International Airport Operations division. Goovaerts joins dnata from Saudi Ground Services Company, where he held the position of Chief Operations Officer since 2016.

Tim Isik will be assuming the role of Director, Cargo Sales – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at American Airlines Cargo. Isik has come from the Passenger Channel Sales team, where he led American’s leisure sales business across the UK, Ireland, and Iceland. Prior to his work in leisure sales, he worked in corporate sales, managing some of American’s most important strategic accounts as their local point of contact in the UK and Ireland. Before joining the American team, he also worked for an experiential marketing agency, where he oversaw major product launches for global brands at the 2012 Olympics.

Stellar Value Chain Solutions has appointed Sharon Thomas as the Chief Executive Officer of the contract logistics business. Originally from London and a post graduate from Oxford University, Thomas comes with over 36 years of business transformation experience spanning key verticals of e-commerce, retail, food, consumer goods, as well as 3PL companies across geographies in the UK, Europe, and Dubai. Her stints have been at the top management level with large companies such as Amazon, Walmart Asda, Al-Tayer Retail Group, Microsoft, Woolworth, OCADO, as well as Marks & Spencer.

DHL Logistics has appointed Vinay Varma as Head – Air Freight Commercials (India). Varma will work on pricing strategy of airfreight at the India level, and will closely associate with airlines to collaboratively achieve long-term relationships for airfreight development at DHL Global Forwarding. In the past, he has worked with airports, airlines, and logistics service providers. He was also involved with overall air cargo supply chain, with projects including development in airline capacity, new routes, infrastructure, airfreight and related products, allied agencies, and relationship management.

Imperial Logistics has appointed Dr Iain
Barton to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President – Healthcare. In his new role, Barton will be responsible for identifying and exploiting healthcare opportunities both within Imperial Logistics’ existing geographic structure and in new markets. Barton is a medical doctor with 10 years’ clinical practice experience. This has been followed by 22 years in developing and implementing best practice supply chains for major healthcare organisations. During that time, he has led the supply chain support of the US government’s PEPFAR.
