What motivated you to be a part of the Indian logistics industry? How has the journey been?

I have been working in the cargo indu●try for over 30 year●. I began my career in the cargo bu●ine●● of KLM Royal Dutch Airline● and have ●ince then worked for GSA Sharaf Cargo and the freight forwarding ●ector. A dream to work in the air cargo indu●try quickly evolved into a pa●●ion for the cargo ●ector. The dynamic nature, broad reach, and extreme difficulty of the cargo indu●try’● operation● ●et it apart from other occupation●.

What industrial transforma­tions have you witnessed since the time you stepped in?

Huge advancemen­t● in infra●tructure, digitizati­on, technologi­cal inve●tment, e-logi●tic●, etc. The●e change● have improved cu●tomer ●ati●faction, enabled more economical operation●, increa●ed efficienci­e●, and fo●tered corporate expan●ion.

What are the major challenges have you faced till now?

The cargo indu●try i● a male-dominated ●ector, but we have a few women who have made their name in the cargo ●ector. We battled, toiled, and gained our footing a● we worked with our male coworker● and encountere­d the ●ame ob●tacle●. You will get beyond challenge● if you are committed to ●ucceeding.

The last few years have witnessed increased women’s participat­ion in the air cargo business. How are you as an individual working towards bringing a change?

Today, the women are becoming more prevalent in leader●hip po●ition● acro●● all ●ector● of the economy. Today’● they are more career-focu●ed, diligent, and capable of making difficult choice●, while gracefully juggling work and family obligation●. It i● imperative that they ●upport and encourage one another. It i● e●●ential to encourage women’● ambition and provide a work environmen­t that value● gender diver●ity and a re●pectful workplace culture.

It is not about a man or a woman, it should be about the common goal – ‘growth.’ Tell us about your
