City to get 24-hour int’l banking facilities soon
Punjab National Bank will soon start international-level banking facilities in the city. For that, the bank has chosen three of the bank’s braches to be upgraded to international level. These new high-tech branches will also provide some additional facilities for 24 hours.
Arun Ahluwalia, circle head, Ludhiana Circle, said in an effort to provide international-level banking facilities, the bank will provide latest infrastructure in Ludhiana city, starting with Chaura Bazar, Civil Lines and Industrial Area branches.
“The new scheme to modernise the banks is called “Pragati” and we have chosen three braches of Ludhaina in the first phase. Apart from changing the complete ambience of the branch, we’ll provide special e-lobby in these branches which will be operational 24 hours,” Ahluwalia added.
E-lobby will contain facilities like passbook machine, where customers can get their passbooks automatically updated whenever they want. It will also have a 24-hour cash deposit machine apart from the ATM facility.
PNB has been planning to select another 20 branches in the city under the Pragti scheme in future. Apart from ambience and 24-hour facilities, the bank will also provide special training to the staff of these selected branches. KR Kamath, CMD of the bank, will inaugurate these facilities on August 6.
